Robot welding of aluminium / stainless steel / mild steel

VDL HMI

We have been welding steel and stainless steel with our welding robot for many years now. Robot welding is very good for complex constructions with many different weld lengths. The main benefits of welding constructions with a welding robot are the high speed and constant quality. A great added advantage is that the cost prices of products produced in large series will be significantly lower than when welding by hand.

In 2016 and 2017 we greatly expanded our range of robot machinery, and we also bought two additional welding robots on tracks. These track-mounted welding robots can travel 7.9 metres between two welding locations and perform welding on two manipulator fixture stations. These track robots can weld products up to 2.75 metres long and 1.5 metres high.

Benefits of a welding robot

  • Fast and precise production proces, high weld quality
  • Very attractive cost prices
  • Results in a better competitive position
  • Consistent product quality
  • Cost-effective for small and large series

Ever more often we are approached by customers asking us whether we can laser cut aluminium pipes and tubes and robot weld them. Our answer to this question is a wholehearted ‘yes’. Since the demand from our customers and start of this production, we can now also weld aluminium on these welding robots.
